You're pretty much forced to use extremely powerful combos and abuse stuff like Wonder Guard etc just to get by, which completely defeats the purpose of a game that lets you fuse anything you want. Trainer pokemons are almost 10 levles higher than their originals, and every gym leader/boss carries one absurdly OP type combination that will wipe your team and there's nothing you can do about it.
Unfusing them causes both their levels to plummet like a rock. Fusing 2 mons together will almost always result in a sharp level drop. So to balance this, the crestors decided to completely fuck up the levelling. As you might imagine, this lets you make some pretty OP mons. The game, as it implies, is a remake of FireRed, but it adds in an item that lets you fuse any two pokemon together like all those pokefusion websites, mixing their stats and abilities and whatnot. I'm gonna shill the Pokemon Fusion romhack's discord. I've never run into a romhack I found to be more fun than the base games, some came close like Fool's Gold or some of the several that tried to follow the anime/mangas, but I genuinly had a good time and it was surprisingly refreshing being able to not worry about hm's and do things in the order I desired Mortar so yo don't need to wait unitl the ass end of the gameĪlso stuff like Celebi is in there, Kanto is fixed, you can choose from a selection of different sprite for you character and color of them and pokemon follow you. THEN you can refight gyms as many times as you want and choose how strong they are which is useful for leveling. It got rid of most of the hm roadblocks and gym's/trainers scale depending on your badges and can be done in any order.įor example if I start in Johto I can walk right to Blackthrone and beat Claire to get the dragon gym out of the way early (and grab a dratini that isnt useless by the time I'd get it like in the base game).
